Main Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate the mini bus, following all traffic regulations and maintaining a high level of passenger safety.

• Transport passengers to designated locations, usually campuses, tube stations, off site events, and occasionally other authorized destinations.

• Adhere to predetermined routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrival and departure.

• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.

• Conduct regular vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or repair needs to Facilities Manager.

• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant data.

• Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the mini bus, both internally and externally.

• Provide excellent customer service, addressing passenger inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

• Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and regulations related to transportation services.

• Attend training sessions and workshops as required to enhance driving skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

• Valid UK D1 license without “101” annotation in column 12 of the driving license, or the full D license

• Valid Driver’s CPC card

• Proven experience as a mini bus driver or similar role, preferably in a transportation or educational setting.

• Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations, with no more than 6 penalty points

• Strong knowledge of local traffic regulations and routes.

• Ability to communicate effectively and interact with passengers of diverse backgrounds.

• Demonstrate customer service skills and a friendly demeanour.

• Physical fitness and ability to handle the physical demands of the job, such as assisting passengers with disabilities and handling luggage.

• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful or challenging situations.

• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

• High level of responsibility and commitment to passenger safety.

• Availability to work any shift within the campus operation times, Mon-Fri 7am-9:30pm; Mon-Fri, Sat-Sun 7am-7pm
