International Product Manager - Higher Education

With exceptionally strong knowledge of the international higher education sector, The Product Manager will support the Business Development team with existing new products as well as play a key role in developing and bringing new products successfully to market. This is a great opportunity for a strong Product Manager from a higher education background who is keen to have ownership and autonomy in a dynamic and growing business. We are looking for a candidate with lots of initiative who gets things done on their own but who can also work well as part of our highly skilled international team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Co-develop product vision and strategy with department and company leadership
  • Identify strategies for improving product P&L performance
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to ensure they are well supported in all go to market plans
  • Develop and orchestrate launch plans and activities
  • Make all product decisions including prioritization relative to features, defects and UX to align with product roadmap and business opportunities
  • Participate in and lead pre-sales and promotional activities such as webinars, blogs, etc.
  • Continuously identify and champion ways to improve/evolve product management capabilities
  • Gather insights across various internal and external stakeholders as well as customers to build and manage a short- and long-term roadmap.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders about product releases and future roadmaps to help drive broad understanding and excitement for the potential and growth of the product.
  • Create and execute on validation plans for a proposed solution to ensure the result meets customer needs and expectations.
  • Ability to identify and rapidly test the riskiest assumptions surrounding product improvements.
  • Work with marketing colleagues to understand competitive products and when/why they win.
  • Work directly with customers as needed to gather insights and understand their day-to-day interactions with our products.
  • Build clear, high-level requirements, emphasizing user goals and jobs-to-be-done, to aid in cross-team, highly collaborative design and building processes.
  • Inspire and enthuse colleagues and users of the product.
  • Provide clear training to colleagues and help with content for marketing materials.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Relevant experience within the Education sector (essential).
  • Business Development Experience (essential).
  • 5+ years’ experience in higher Education.
  • Experience as a Business Development, Growth Manager, Sales Executive within Public Sector or Higher Education.
  • Experience with managing long sales cycles.
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas and targets.
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics and reporting.

Skills:

  • Fluent in English (essential) and another language (desirable).
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent data analysis skills.
  • Critical thinker and problem solver who is motivated to seek data to inform his or her work and able to distil insight from a wide array of information sources.
