Accounts Payable Supervisor

What We Do: The finance team supports the business by managing budgets, financial planning, reporting, compliance, and ensuring effective use of resources to enable strategic and operational goals.

The role: To manage the effective administration and implementation of the accounts payable process ensuring all payments have been processed and reconciled correctly on time.

To develop and write quality reports both internally for GBS and for GBS partner organisations and other external agencies. To contribute to preparations for degree awarding powers.

Main Responsibilities

What the role involves:

  • Accountable of the end-to-end Accounts Payable process
  • Create close links with the bank reconciliation and feed any payments made in the business to the bank’s reconciliation process
  • Perform the month end closing process and reconciliation of the ledgers
  • Record all third-party invoices to correct general ledger and cost centres in our ERP
  • system (Unit4)
  • Line manage and develop Accounts Payable Administrators

Requirements

What Experience/Skills are required:

  • Demonstrable prior experience of working in accounts payable at supervisory or team leader level
  • A strong understanding of general ledger and cost centres
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with excellent organisational skills

Desirable Experience/Skills:

  • Experience in using Unit4 (ERP system)
