The Role: The purpose of the role is to proactively develop and support high quality practices across the Academic Services Function. The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of students records on Thesis. This role involves the management of a specific area within Registry - Academic Services as designated by the Associate Registrar. With the highest consideration for data integrity, quality and efficiency, the post holder will ensure that processes associated with data management and provision, are customer-centric and streamlined. The post holder will also have responsibility for ensuring the provision of a number of online, student facing systems and functions which support a positive student experience are maintained and any issues are quickly brought to the attention of the Associate Registrar.

Main Responsibilities

What the role involves:

  • To manage the maintenance of the student records system ensuring all data is accurate and up to date., including the quality of historic and current curriculum data, assessment details, status are correct.
  • To plan, implement and manage processes required by partner universities in relation to Enrolment, Curriculum, Assessment, Progression and Awards
  • Close collaboration to support the Statutory Returns Team with preparations for statutory returns, including but not limited to HESA, TEF and HESES and statutory funding bodies as well as returns required by partner universities.
  • To manage Senior Academic Services Offices and to supervise and direct their work to accurately maintain all areas of responsibility, within designated deadlines.
  • To deliver appropriate training and briefing sessions for academic and professional service colleagues across the institution on Academic Services policies and processes.

 

 

 

Requirements

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Substantial experience of HE requirements, processes and policies
  • Experience of using information technology to manage large data sets and deadlines 
  • Experience of project management as well as planning, prioritising and organising team tasks and staff to meet deadlines and service deliverables
  • Experience of managing a team with a flexible approach to delivering team results.
  • Ability to receive, understand and convey information that needs careful explanation or interpretation e.g., procedures or regulations 
  • Experience of monitoring service delivery and quality
  • Willingness to work additional hours at peak periods as necessary to ensure deadlines are met and a willingness to accept travel between university sites and occasional travel off-site

  • Working with multiple systems and different regulations.
  • Ability to Multi-task
  • Ability to resolve conflict between team members
